Ryan Dong

Ryan Dong is a seven-time DownBeat Student Music Award–winning drummer from Irvine, California. A recent graduate of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, Ryan earned both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in drumset.

During his time at BCCM, Ryan performed with the premier Concert Jazz Orchestra and served as the band section leader for the nationally acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble, Pacific Standard Time. He has also performed with world-renowned jazz musicians including Wayne Bergeron, Ernie Watts, and Sal Lozano.

Ryan is currently a drummer with the Disneyland Band and maintains an active performance schedule across Northern and Southern California, appearing in jazz gigs, musical theatre productions (Beauty and the Beast, Something Rotten!, Chicago), contemporary church settings, private teaching studios, and as a jazz coach.
