Kojiro Yuan

Kojiro Yuan is a Classical Guitarist who holds a Bachelor of Art degree for guitar performance at the SF Conservatory of Music. He started playing the classical guitar as a teenager. He studied with Scott Cmiel and Matthew Linder at Ruth Asawa San Francisco SOTA. He also studied under David Tanenbaum and Larry Ferrara at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has won many awards, scholarships, and competitions throughout his career that were both national and local. His playing has been praised by some of the world’s most renowned classical guitar players.

At the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for his Bachelor of Music in Guitar, he performed 7 solo guitar concerts. He also participated in a Quartet performance in the Spring of 2017 with Los Angeles Guitar Quartet Member John Dearman.

Kojiro Yuan won the National Royal Conservatory of Music Level 5 Guitar Gold Medal at the age of 15. At the age of 16, he won the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 6 Guitar Certificate for First Class Honors with Distinction. He also received First Class Honors with Distinction for both the Royal Conservatory of Music Basic and Intermediate Rudiments Music Theory Tests. He also received the Northern California Festival of Excellence Certificate of Participation for earning the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 6 Guitar Certificate for First Class Honors with Distinction. He also earned straight As in his guitar class with Scott Cmiel at Ruth Asawa SF School of the Arts. During his Senior Year of high school at the Ruth Asawa SF School of the Arts (2015-2016), he won the school’s concerto competition with Concerto for Lute in D Major by Vivaldi. He also auditioned to 4 separate music schools including the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and was admitted to them all. In 2016, he won the Vincent Constantino Scholarship to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music to study with David Tanenbaum. He currently attends the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a Bachelor of Music in Guitar (2016-2020).

In May 2017, Kojiro started working as a guitar teacher at ViBO Music School. He has been working there ever since.
