Miguel Mercado
Miguel began studying the violin at the age of five and trained for over a decade under the guidance of Victor Lin at the Vibo Music School and Professor Sergio Esmilla from the Philippines. Miguel attended the San Francisco School of the Arts where, as a member of the orchestra, he also completed a solo performance curriculum that emphasized both technical development and individual musicianship. For the past ten years, Miguel has enjoyed sharing a passion for music through private violin instruction for various genres including classical, baroque and contemporary music. He believes every student learns differently and tailors each lesson to match the student’s individual learning style, goals, and pace. Whether a student hopes to perform confidently, build strong fundamentals, or simply play for enjoyment, his lessons are designed to support what is most meaningful to them. Miguel places a strong emphasis on musical expression, confidence, healthy practice habits, and developing skills that students can carry into future musical experiences. Above all, the goal is for every lesson to be an engaging and enjoyable experience, one that inspires students to look forward to practicing and to develop a lasting appreciation for music, both on and beyond the violin.
